"We arrived as guests and left as if we were family. The courtyard, the coffee, the gaita at dusk: it feels like returning to a place we had never been."

"The hike to the Los Colorados Sanctuary with the guide they recommended was the best part of the trip. And a hot shower after walking all day was pure luxury."

"A cozy, family-run place with real character. The staff helped us plan every day and the coconut sweets class with the local ladies was the highlight of our trip to Colombia."

Tips for your trip

A few things we share with every new guest, gathered here so you arrive without surprises.

Light clothing and comfortable shoes

The weather is warm all year. Bring cotton clothing, a hat and closed shoes for the hikes to the Los Colorados Sanctuary.

Best time to visit

December to April, the dry season, is ideal for outdoor activities. May to November brings brief showers, but the landscape looks greener.

Cash on hand

There are ATMs in town, but we recommend bringing Colombian pesos in cash for the market, the stalls on the square and the craft workshops.

Book ahead

On long weekends and regional festivals the house fills up fast; we recommend writing to us at least two weeks in advance.
